On December 21, 2015 the EU-Central Asia Ministerial Meeting took place in Astana. The Foreign Ministers of Central Asian and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy F.Mogerini attended the meeting. Tajik delegation was led by Parviz Davlatzoda, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Participants discussed a wide range of issues of shared interest, including the recent review of the EU Strategy for Central Asia, the development of overall relations between the EU and Central Asia, regional and international issues of mutual interest, combating common threats and challenges. Ministers agreed on the importance of a comprehensive EU approach to the region, which encompasses not only multilateral financial assistance, but also support by individual EU Member States and the active engagement of European financial institutions, such as the European Investment Bank and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Following the meeting, the Joint Communique of European Union – Central Asia Ministerial Meeting was adopted.
