Relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the State of Kuwait

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the State of Kuwait were established on March 31, 1995.

 On June 24, 2013, the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Kuwait was officially opened.

The President of the Republic of Tajikistan paid three official visits to the State of Kuwait (April 17-19, 1995, June 23-25, 2013 and May 15-17, 2016).

On October 17, 2012 the President of the Republic of Tajikistan visited Kuwait to take part in the Summit of Heads of Member States of the Asia Cooperation Dialogue.

On November 22, 2014 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Muhriddin paid an official visit to the State of Kuwait.

There have been sessions of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission between Tajikistan and Kuwait on economic, trade, scientific, and technological cooperation on May 23–24, 2013 in Dushanbe, December 8–19, 2017 in Al-Kuwait, and September 19–22, 2022 in Dushanbe.

The Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group between the Republic of Tajikistan and the State of Kuwait was established in 2014. On December 19-22, 2015 a parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan visited State of Kuwait.

Political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the two countries were held on April 27, 2015, in Al-Kuwait, Dushanbe, on April 4–5, 2016, and on April 2, 2018 in Al-Kuwait.

The legal framework of the cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the State of Kuwait is formed by 23 documents.

In June 2018, the Ministry of Finance of the State of Kuwait provided assistance in the amount of 250 thousand US dollars for the repair and provision of necessary equipment for a boarding school under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On July 24-27, 2018, representatives of the Kuwait State Company "Ethical and Medical Millennium Complex" headed by Muhammad Ahmad Said Abdullah al-Asbahi traveled to Dushanbe to establish cooperation in the field of health.

On November 11-13, 2019, the official visit of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Qohir Rasulzoda to the State of Kuwait was held. On the framework of the visit, the Investment Forum entitled “Investment Climate in the Republic of Tajikistan” and the presentation of the country's tourism potential and opportunities were held.

On July 16, 2021 in Tashkent, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Muhriddin met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Ahmad Nasir al-Muhammad al-Jaber al-Sabah in the framework of the International Conference "Central and South Asia: Regional Solidarity - Challenges and Opportunities".

On November 20, 2018, the Cultural evening of Tajikistan was held in the theater named after Abdulhusain Abduriza of the State of Kuwait with the participation of Tajik artists under the leadership of the first deputy minister of culture Ibodullo Mashrabov.

On October 13–19, 2019, the Days of Culture of the State of Kuwait were held in the Republic of Tajikistan.

On December 7, 2021, in Dushanbe, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon received the Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, Marwan Abdullah Al-Gonim.

On June 30, 2023, in Dushanbe, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, received the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Ahmed Fahd Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
