Meeting with the UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression

On 3 March 2016 the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan  Nizomiddin Zohidi has met with the UN Special Rapporteur on the promotion and protection of the right to freedom of opinion and expression  David Kaye.

During the meeting the parties have discussed issues related to observance of human rights in Tajikistan, including the right to freedom of opinion and expression.

The parties have noted the importance of strengthening cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Office on protection and observance of human rights in the country.
