Celebration of Nowruz in the United Nations

On 21 March 2016 pursuant to the UN General Assembly Resolution A/64/253 the International Day of Nowruz was celebrated in the UN Headquarter in New York. The Permanent Representative of Tajikistan to the UN has attended the event and delivered a statement. In his statement the Permanent Representative has congratulated participants and spoken about essence of Nowruz in Tajikistan.

The President of the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Secretary-General of the UN and the Permanent Representatives of Afghanistan, India, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan have also attended the event and delivered statements.

At the end of the event the video-clips with reflection of Nowruz features in the above mentioned countries were presented.
