Celebrating Navruz in France

On March 29, 2016 at UNESCO headquarters in Paris, embassies of the countries of Navruz area (Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Iraq, Pakistan and India) held an official reception on the occasion of celebration of International Navruz holiday. The Diplomatic corps, residents and guests of the French capital were invited to share this festive celebration. Guests had the opportunity to learn more about Navruz and taste the popular festive cuisine of Navruz countries, they also watched videos on the traditions of Navruz in each state.

In addition, the Embassy of Tajikistan designed a traditional national holiday table decorated with Haftsin and Haftshin  which symbolize abundance and fertility. The Embassy also showcased books and presented booklets about Tajikistan.
