30th UN General Assembly Special session on world drug problem

On 19 April 2016 in New York the United Nations General Assembly began its 30th Special session on world drug problem.

The delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan, headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirodjidin Aslov and the Director of Drug Control Agency under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Sherkhon Salimzoda took part and made a statement in this event.

In his statement, the Head of Tajikistan’s delegation has informed the participants about the initiatives and achievements of the country in the combat against drugs, and noted that the fight against drug trafficking is one of the parts of the struggle against organized crime, extremism and terrorism. In this regard, the Head of the delegation stressed the importance of strengthening and development of international cooperation with all interested countries and international organizations in this case.

UN Special Session will continue until April 21, 2016.
