Breakfast meeting of the members of the Water Friends Group in New York

On September 8, 2016 an extended meeting of the members of the Water Friends Group was held in New York with the participation of the representatives of more than 70 Permanent Missions of the UN member states.  

During the meeting the global water agenda issues were discussed , including the issue of promotion of the new initiative by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on proclamation of the International Decade “Water for Sustainable Development”.

Members of the Water Friends Group, who had previously participated at the Symposium on SDG 6 and targets: "Ensuring that no one is left behind in access to water and sanitation" (Aug. 9-11, 2016, Dushanbe), expressed their gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan for successful convening of this High-level event.
