Meeting with the Secretary General of SCO

On March 14, 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin received Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Nurlan Yermekbayev, who is on an official visit to the Republic of Tajikistan.

At the outset, the Foreign Minister congratulated N. Yermekbayev on the commencement of his work as the SCO Secretary General, wished him success in the performance of his duties and expressed the readiness provide all possible assistance.

At the meeting, the sides had a thorough exchange of views on issues pertinent to SCO agenda, including the progress in implementation of the decisions of the Heads of State and Government in various areas of cooperation, in particular, the improvement of the Organization's activities.

S. Muhriddin emphasized that Tajikistan, as one of the founding countries of the SCO, regularly makes a valuable contribution to the development and strengthening of constructive political dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation with its member states, observer states and dialogue partners.

The meeting focused on the implementation of Tajikistan's initiatives and priorities within the Organization, including the establishment of the SCO Anti-Drug Centre in Dushanbe as a new permanent body of the Organization.
