Briefing on the Preparatory Process for the High-Level International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation

On March 14, 2025, a briefing was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affair of the Republic of Tajikistan with participation of the Ambassador-at-Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs M. Jalolov and Head of the Secretariat of the High-Level International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation S. Boyzoda.

During the event, it was noted that the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan continues preparations for the first the High-Level International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation, which will be held on May 29-31, 2025 in Dushanbe.

It was emphasized that the objective of this conference is to raise awareness of international community about the importance of glaciers and to prevent their rapid melting, and to advance global efforts in addressing melt and its wide-ranging impacts through collaborative action, scientific innovation, and policy alignment.

In this regard, participants were provided with detailed information on the structure of the program of the Glaciers’ Preservation Conference, including thematic sessions, forums, side events and cultural events.

Registration for the High-Level International Conference on Glaciers’ Preservation will begin on March 15, 2025.
