The SCO member States note the special significance of the signed Treaty and regard it as a valuable contribution to peace, security and stability in the area of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization”.

Collective Security Treaty Organization

“The Secretariat of the Collective Security Treaty Organisation welcomes the signing of the Treaty on the State Border between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan.

Thanks to the consistent efforts and political will of the Leaders of the two countries, the line of the State border along its entire almost thousand-kilometre length has been agreed upon.

"The European Union welcomes the signing of a final border agreement on the delimitation and demarcation of the shared border between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan.

This is an important moment and a significant step forward based on dialogue and peaceful resolution of disputes. The agreement will strengthen the resilience and stability of Central Asia.

The European Union supports regional cooperation, a principle on which it is itself founded, and stands ready to support the implementation of the agreement, in line with its Strategy for Central Asia and the Joint Roadmap for Deepening Ties between the EU and Central Asia".

Commonwealth of Independent States

CIS Secretary General Sergey Lebedev has sincerely congratulated President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov and President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Chairman of the CIS Council of Heads of State Emomali Rahmon on the signing of the Treaty between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic on the State Border.

In his congratulatory message, the CIS Secretary General expressed his conviction that the practical implementation of the provisions of the Treaty will help strengthen good-neighbourly relations between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan on the basis of mutual respect, trust and equality, which, according to Sergey Lebedev, is a necessary foundation for the further development of bilateral multifaceted cooperation and meets the fundamental interests of the two countries, as well as the Commonwealth of Independent States as a whole.

The CIS Secretary General wished the presidents further success in their multifaceted state activity, and wished the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan peace and prosperity.

Organization of Islamic Cooperation

"The OIC General Secretariat warmly welcomed the signing on Thursday, 13 March 2025, in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, of the border demarcation agreement between their countries by H.E. President Emomali Rahmon of the Republic of Tajikistan and H.E. President Sadyr Japarov of the Kyrgyz Republic. 

H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary General of the OIC, congratulated both countries on this historic achievement, which closes the page on the long-standing differences between them, restores mutual understanding and harmony between them, strengthens mutual trust and gives a new impetus to cooperation and good neighbourly relations between the countries. two brotherly countries and peoples.

Given the OIC's endeavour to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and harmony among its member states, the Secretary General hopes that this historic achievement will contribute to serving the interests of the two countries and strengthen the foundations of peace between them and the region as a whole".

"China congratulates Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan on the signing of a state border treaty, and highly commends the two presidents’ crucial role in seeking the peaceful settlement of the border issue through consultation. This is conducive to peace, stability, development and prosperity in the region.

"The United States congratulates Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic on their historic agreement to delineate and demarcate the entirety of their border. This accomplishment reflects the commitment of their governments to diplomacy and regional stability.

Settling border disputes is one of the most difficult diplomatic tasks a government can undertake, and we commend the vision and determination of both governments’ leaders to overcome obstacles. The United States hopes this landmark agreement opens the door to robust trade and people-to-people ties and to increased prosperity and peace for both countries and for the greater region".

Russian Federation

“Russia welcomes the signing on March 13 of the Treaty on the State Border between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan.

The conclusion of this important document was made possible thanks to the political will of the leaders of both States and the long and painstaking work of government delegations on the delimitation and demarcation of the border.

The Russian side, in the spirit of alliance, has always provided political and diplomatic assistance to its partners in Bishkek and Dushanbe in the interests of a final settlement of border issues.

There is no doubt that the implementation of the Treaty will contribute to strengthening stability and security in the Central Asian region, and relations between Russia's allies and strategic partners - Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan - will reach a new qualitative level”.

Islamic Republic of Iran

“The spokesperson for Iran’s Foreign Ministry, Esmail Baqaei, has welcomed the signing of a border treaty between the Republics of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan by the presidents of the two countries on Thursday.

Baqaei congratulated both parties and described the successful conclusion of the agreement as an important step toward establishing peace and stability in the region.

He emphasized that the treaty demonstrates the effectiveness of diplomacy in resolving disputes between nations while respecting and safeguarding mutual interests and dignity”.

United Arab Emirates

"The United Arab Emirates has welcomed the agreement reached between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic on border demarcation, and reaffirmed its support for all efforts aiming to reinforce peace and prosperity. 

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) expressed hope that this step would contribute to strengthening stability and constructive cooperation, as well as enhancing development and peace at both regional and international levels, to benefit both countries, their peoples, and serve their mutual interests. 

Furthermore, the Ministry underscored the close ties between the UAE and the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kyrgyz Republic, affirming the country’s commitment to supporting their efforts to foster peace, development, and stability in the region. The UAE highlighted the importance of peaceful dialogue as the only way to resolve crises".

French Republic

France welcomes the signing in Bishkek on 13 March of the final border delimitation agreement between the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan.

The announcement, which comes at the end of a long process, sends an important signal for stability and the continued regional integration of the five countries of Central Asia. The reopening of the borders is an essential stage in strengthening human and economic exchanges.

In this same spirit of normalizing relations between Central Asian countries, France would like to welcome the upcoming trilateral summit in Khujand on 31 March between the Uzbek, Tajik and Kyrgyz presidents.

State of Kuwait

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expresses the greetings of the State of Kuwait on the achievement of the border agreement between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Kyrgyzstan. ‘The State of Kuwait welcomes this positive step to strengthen relations between the two countries and hopes that this agreement will contribute to the maintenance of peace, stability and progress of the two friendly peoples of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan”.

Republic of Turkiye

We welcome the border delimitation agreement signed between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan today (13 March).

We expect that this agreement, concluded as a result of the close dialogue between the two countries at the highest level, will contribute to peace, stability and cooperation in the region.

Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates welcomes the signing of the border demarcation agreement between the friendly Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.

The official spokesperson for the Ministry, Ambassador D. Sufyan Al-Qudah, said that Jordan supports all initiatives that serve the interests of the two countries and contribute to security and stability in the Central Asian region.

Ambassador Al-Dudah emphasized the importance of this agreement as a historic step that contributes to strengthening relations between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan and supports efforts to consolidate regional and international security and stability.
