Tajikistan and the European Union enhance development cooperation

On March 14, 2025 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the European Commissioner for International Partnerships Jozef Sikela, who is on a working visit in Dushanbe.

The parties exchanged views regarding the dynamics of fruitful collaboration in priority areas, including development of “green” energy, enhancement of transport connectivity, improving education and healthcare systems, digitalization, security and other matters of mutual interest. They also addressed joint plans for further advancement and expansion of bilateral and interregional partnership.

The significance and the necessity of intensifying practical cooperation in the hydropower sector, which is considered one of the key and prospective areas of collaboration, was emphasized.
