Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Hellenic Republic were established on 30 September, 1992.
Political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Hellenic Republic took place in Dushanbe on 20 May 2008. Both sides discussed and exchanged views on bilateral relations, regional cooperation and security issues, and Tajikistan's and Greece's interaction within international organizations including the OSCE and the UN.
On 1st December 2022 in Lodz, Poland on the margins of the 29th session of the OSCE Ministerial Council the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece Nikos Dendias.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on issues relating to bilateral and multilateral relations between Tajikistan and Greece.
The parties also exchanged views on expanding cooperation in the fields of the economy, trade, tourism, education and culture, and within the framework of international organizations.
The legal framework for Tajik-Greek cooperation is currently being established.
