Participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the 43rd OIC Ministerial Council Meeting

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Aslov has participated and made a statement at the 43rd OIC Ministerial Council Meeting that has started on 18 October  2016 in Tashkent.

During the meeting held under the chairmanship of Abdulaziz Kamilov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the foreign ministers of the OIC countries have exchanged views on urgent issues of the Islamic world, modern issues and challenges, development and implementation of joint actions and initiatives on ensuring peace and stability, as well as economic and social development of the countries of the region.

In his statement the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Mr. Sirodjidin  Aslov, while presenting the position of the Republic of Tajikistan on various items of the OIC agenda, has stressed upon the necessity for resumption and strengthening of the peace negotiation process in the Middle East on the basis of the UN resolutions and other international initiatives, involvement of Afghanistan in the regional economic processes, ensuring security of transit trade corridors through Afghanistan, as well as enhancement of economic cooperation, including development and implementation of regional and intra-regional projects in the OIC area.
