Participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Plenary Session of the Budapest Water Summit: “How to do Integrated Water Resources Management?”

On 28 November 2016 in Budapest H.E. Mr. Sirodjidin Aslov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan has participated and made a statement in the Plenary Session of the Budapest Water Summit entitled “How to do Integrated Water Resources Management?”

In his statement the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan has dwelled upon the national and regional experiences in integrated water resources management in Central Asia, key elements of the Water Sector Reform Program adopted by the Government of Tajikistan for the period of 2016-2025, as well as international initiatives of Tajikistan within the UN water agenda, particularly the new initiative on the International Decade of Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028 to be adopted by the UN General Assembly resolution in December 2016.  

The event was also attended by Mr. Mansour Faye, Minister for Water Resources of Senegal and Mr. Christian Friis Bach, Executive Secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Europe who made statements as key speakers.
