Meeting of the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan with the Chairman of the Council of Research in Water Resources of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan

On January 10, 2017 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Tajikistan to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Mr. Sherali Jononov has met with the Chairman of the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources, Professor Muhammad Ashraf, during which the issues related with efficient water resources management have been discussed.

Professor Muhammad Ashraf stated that Pakistan welcomed the adoption of the Resolution entitled “International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028” by the UN General Assembly, initiated by the Founder of Peace and National Unity – Leader of Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon. It was noted that the initiative will contribute to the development of water diplomacy and serve as a solid basis for solving the issues of water resources management in the globalized world.

The parties have also expressed readiness for strengthening cooperation aimed at adoption of joint efforts for the implementation of the decade.
