Meeting between Mr. Ismatullo Nasredin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and Mr. Yuri Fedotov, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime

On 19July 2018, within the framework of his working visit between Mr. Ismatullo Nasredin, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan has met with  Mr. Yuri Fedotov, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).

During the meeting, the parties have discussed the key issues of relations of the Republic of Tajikistan with the UNODC in combating drug trafficking, cooperation within the regional organizations, such as the Central Asian Regional Information and Coordination Center for Combating Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and their Precursors (CARICC), as well as prevention of trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants.

Taking into account the unprecedented growth of opium poppy cultivation in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the parties have noted the necessity of strengthening cooperation at the regional and global levels.
