On September 11, 2014, in Brussels the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Kingdom of Belgium hosted a reception to celebrate the 23rd anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The event was attended by activists of the Tajik diaspora in Belgium and senior officials from the EU institutions, including the newly elected Members of the European Parliament, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the host country and the diplomatic corps accredited in Brussels, European research centers and universities, the media, foreign friends of Tajikistan in the European Union and a group of young athletes of the Republic of Tajikistan, who arrived in the host country to participate in the European Special Olympics Summer Games.
In his speech, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Kingdom of Belgium Rustamjon Soliev congratulated his compatriots on the 23rd anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Tajikistan, and informed the audience about the significant achievements of the country since independence, constructive policy of President Emomali Rahmon on the way to the implementation of strategic goals of the country, the prospects of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and the European Union.
