On 19 April 2021, the second round of political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands was held in the format of videoconference.
During the meeting, a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the Netherlands in the field of politics, economics, environment, education, tourism, water and energy cooperation as well as combating extremism and terrorism were discussed. A fruitful exchange of views also took place on the issues of fight against COVID-19, modern challenges and threats.
The parties also considered collaboration between the two countries within the framework of international and regional organizations. In this context, the interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation in the framework of the International Decade for Action "Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028" and reiterated their readiness to continue joint work on the successful organization of the UN Conference on the Midterm Comprehensive Review of the Implementation of the International Decade for Action, “Water for Sustainable Development,” 2018- 2028”, which is scheduled for March 22-24, 2023 in New York.
