Cooperation between Tajikistan and Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA)

The Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building in Asia (CICA) is an international forum for strengthening cooperation for the sake of peace, security and stability in Asia, which was established on October 5, 1992.

The CICA comprises of 27 member states, as well as 8 states and 5 observer organizations. Tajikistan has been a member of CICA since 1999.

The Republic of Tajikistan has established close cooperation with the CICA and was has chaired it during 2018-2020. On June 15, 2019, the 5th CICA Summit was held in Dushanbe.

On September 24, 2020, during the meeting of CICA Foreign Ministers, Tajikistan transferred the chairmanship to the Republic of Kazakhstan for another term.

Since 2020, Kairat Sarybay holds the position of the Executive Director of CICA
