Relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the State of Palestine

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the State of Palestine were established on March 6, 1992.

The State of Palestine first appointed its Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Tajikistan Muhammad Tarshahani (with residence in Tashkent) on 5 March 2014.

In 2020, the Embassy of the State of Palestine stated operating in Dushanbe. From February 18, 2021, the Ambassador of the State of Palestine in Dushanbe is Mr. Loai Issа.

Political ties between Tajikistan and Palestine date back to the Soviet era. Tajikistan has always supported the struggle for the liberation of the Palestinian people.

Two rounds of political consultations were held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and Palestine (March 29, 2017 and April 23-24, 2018).

Currently, the parties are considering 7 draft agreements of cooperation in various fields.

During visit to Tajikistan, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Palestine H.E. Mr. Riyad al-Maliki met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirodjidin Muhriddin (July 26, 2018) and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Qohir Rasulzoda (July 27, 2018).

The sides discussed issues of political relations, economic and trade cooperation, investment, cooperation in energy, culture, agriculture, health, tourism and cooperation in the framework of international and regional organizations.

Palestinian delegations are taking part in high-level international events in the Republic of Tajikistan. In particular, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Palestine Riyad al-Maliki took part in the Fifth Summit of the Conference on Cooperation and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (Dushanbe, June 14-15, 2019).
