Meeting of Tajik Ambassador with Egyptian Prime Minister

On 10 November 2015 in Cairo the Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt Sherif Ismail received the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan Khusrav Noziri. During the meeting issues of bilateral Tajik-Egyptian cooperation, as well as other issues of mutual interest have been discussed.

On bilateral issues the Ambassador of our country emphasized that the development of friendly and cooperative relations with Egypt is considered as a priority in the foreign policy of Tajikistan, adding that the official visit by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the Arab Republic of Egypt which took place in February 2007 has laid a solid foundation for further expansion of bilateral cooperation in various fields. In this regard, it was noted that this year the two heads of states exchanged official letters, the fact which highlights the mutual desire of Dushanbe and Cairo to raise their bilateral relations to a higher level.

Referring to the strength of the bilateral Tajik-Egyptian relations, the Prime Minister expressed the hope that the mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries will be further developed as well. Sherif Ismail pointed out that Egypt supports the expansion of cooperation with Tajikistan in various areas, in particular in the fields of energy, tourism, industry, agriculture, and etc. In this regard, he stressed the importance of the exchange of visits by delegations of the two countries and establishment of cooperation between the Tajik and Egyptian businessmen and investors.

Egyptian Prime Minister drew attention to the difficult situation in the Middle East and his country’s efforts in countering terrorism and extremism. Stressing the need for cooperation among all countries of the world to eliminate terrorism, Sherif Ismail expressed hope for the demonstration of international solidarity with Egypt in this fight.
