April 3, 2014 in Baku, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirodjidin Aslov.
At the beginning of the meeting the President of Azerbaijan noted the importance of the agreements reached during the visit of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon to the Republic of Azerbaijan in strengthening and future development of bilateral ties. The President of Azerbaijan expressed hope that the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan will also contribute to the further development of bilateral cooperation.
In turn, the Foreign Minister of Tajikistan conveyed greetings of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon , and presented an invitation on behalf of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan to the President of Azerbaijan to visit Tajikistan.
It was noted that based on the principles of friendship and partnership, the relations between Tajikistan and Azerbaijan developed steadily taking into account mutual interests aimed at perspectives both in bilateral and multilateral formats.
The sides also thoroughly exchanged views on the state and prospects of relations between the two countries as well as further ways of mutually beneficial cooperation in the political, economic, trade, cultural and humanitarian fields.
