Review of Tajikistan’ economic success in British University in Egypt

Ambassador of Tajikistan in Cairo Khusrav Noziri took part at the roundtable discussion entitled "Success Stories of the Fastest Growing Economies Worldwide" hosted by the British University in Egypt  (BUE) on 28 October 2018. Ambassadors of Singapore, Portugal and Mexico also were invited to that event.

President of BUE Prof. Ahmed Hamad in his welcoming remarks said that Singapore, Portugal, Mexico and Tajikistan are among the countries that have achieved economic growth in recent years. The purpose of the roundtable discussion is to analyze the most important economic challenges, address opportunities and obstacles, showcase solutions and pinpoint the success stories of the countries which were able to achieve rapid economic growth.

Ambassador of Tajikistan briefed the audience on economic policies of the Tajik Government, as well its measures taken in order to improve investment environment, to establish free economic zones, to support private sector and to promote small and medium sized enterprises which as a result led to the improvement of overall economic situation and ensured the average economic growth of the country during the last decade at the rate of 7%.

The work of the roundtable discussion has been covered by the Egyptian press. In an article which was published in the biggest newspaper of Egypt “Al-Ahram” it was stressed that “successes of Singapore, Portugal, Mexico and Tajikistan are the result of serious policies, as well as bold economic and trade reforms. That constitutes important basis which should be used for the expansion of horizons for economic and trade cooperation with these countries.
