Meeting of the Tajik delegation with the OSCE ODIHR Director

On September 16, 2019 in Warsaw, within the framework of the OSCE Meeting on the Review of Implementation of Commitments in the Human Dimension, the Tajik delegation met with the Director of the OSCE ODIHR, Ingibjörg Gísladóttir.

The head of the Tajik delegation, assistant to the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on legal issues, Zarif Alizoda, briefed the OSCE ODIHR Director on the human rights situation in Tajikistan, as well as on the fulfillment of obligations undertaken by Tajikistan under various international conventions and programs.

Ingibjörg Gísladóttir, who recently visited Tajikistan, noted improvements in the field of ensuring human rights, as well as other processes of development of a democratic society in the country.

The issue of possible participation of the OSCE ODIHR in the upcoming Parliamentary and Presidential Elections in Tajikistan was also discussed.
