Meeting of Tajikistan-EU Cooperation Council

On 20 October 2014 in Luxembourg the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirodjidin Aslov took part in the 4th Meeting of the Tajikistan-EU Cooperation Council.

During the meeting of the Council the sides discussed issues of cooperation between Tajikistan and EU in the spheres economy, energy, culture and education, realization of the EU Strategy for Central Asia, implementation of the projects and programs of the EU in Tajikistan and exchanged view on international and regional agenda.  

At the end of the meeting the sides signed the Joint Statement welcoming the decision of the European Commission to adopt a long-term indicative program for 2014-2020 with the total cost of 251 mln Euros within the new EU Strategy for CA.

It should be noted that in the Council the EU delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of the current chair country in the EU (Italy) Benedetto Della Vedova.
