In the sideline of the informal session of the CIS heads of state, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
A range of topical issues concerning Tajik – Russian strategic partnership as well as regional and international matters were in the focus of the meeting.
The counterparts also discussed the implementation of measures to resolve labor migration issues with the primary goal of announcing the next amnesty for Tajik migrants in Russia.
The parties also discussed equipping the Tajik army in accordance with the adopted programs.
During the exchange of views on regional and international issues, the sides also emphasized the need to strengthen the protection of the Tajik-Afghan border.
