On June 16, 2015 at the US State Department in Washington the fifth Annual Bilateral Consultations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the United States of America took place. The delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan was headed by the Foreign Minister Sirodjidin Aslov.
Tajikistan delegation also consisted of such senior Government officials as the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Saidrahmon Nazriev, the Chairman of the Committee on Religious Affairs, Traditions and Ceremonies under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan Sulaymon Davlatzoda and others.
The United States delegation was led by the Assistant Secretary of State on South and Central Asia Affairs Nisha D. Biswal. Representatives of the National Security Council, the Department of Commerce, the Department of Labor, the US Agency for International Development were also members of the US delegation.
During the consultations the sides discussed wide range of issues of bilateral tajik-american cooperation in political, economic, energy and investment spheres. The sides also exchanged views on interaction of two countries in security, religious and media freedom and human rights issues.
On June 17, 2015 separate meetings of the Tajik delegation with senior US government officials are scheduled.
